Does anyone know anything about these. The one in my wifes 1.4 is giving an iffy negative temp reading. cleaned the exterior sensor but nothing. swapped with the one from my Calibra SE and it works ok in the cally but my cally one won't in the Astra.
now the time reading is play up as well. I'm stumped as to where the plugs and thing are behind the dash even if i get the thing out.
Anyone any ideas. Anyone owned/own a mk3

Not the display above the radio. The external sensor under the bumper. The last bit of the post reads funny own/owned as this was posted on another site before i found this site

the external temp sensor is a common fault on the mk3's, not too expensive to replace iirc (about £20 - £30).
ive never traced the full loom to the MFD but i know there are a couple of wires coming from the stereo, a permanent live, ignition live, a feed from the sidelights, and an earth (unless its a gsi / sport where there are more for the level sensors and stuff)
if the clock is also going funny i'd think theres gonna be a fault with the MFD itsself, if you need a new 1 let me know - think ive still got 1 in the garage from my old astra you could have for a couple of quid + postage.

Cheers.... i'm going to have a look at it again at the weekend and i'll give you a shout if needed.

Mine went on my astra, was £15 from vauxhall and takes 30 secs to replace. It's located underneath the front bumper on the left...........

The MFD can be removed by removing the rubber mat from the pen shelf, this exposes the screws
