Hello chaps.
Even though south central seems to be dying a death im going to continue plugging away and trying to get as many people involved & interested as possible.
So I am asking of you nothing more then adding a list of Scrap yards/car breakers in your postcode (eg SO postcode and PO postcode anything in SC area OK to give.)
Also with a rating system, :cool: = well recomended :nod: would use :rolleyes: = would use in a pinch :sad: = last resort :laugh: = avoid place is a joke! :hang: AVOID AT ALL COST!!

The yard: The yard is quite safe, 2 car rackings in the Pick a part area, and forklifts, if you can find a driver, will be ok to pick something off the top rack for you. Very expensive unless you have INCREDIBLE haggling skills. Good tyre bay, can sometimes let things go very cheaply however I have only had 1 free thing from there, that was a wheel bolt!!
rating: Overall its worth a look if your saftey concious and not worried about money. :nod:

Discription: Mud bath really, place is a complete death trap, cars are stacked on top of one another & driven into place, then left for years (actually found a Vauxhall Royale in there!!) however there are a few things that are of use there and unless its something from a car dropped on top of another the be VERY careful!! good in the winter (when mud frozen!) or summer (when mud dry!), if its rained wear wellies, and maybe a biohazzard suit! all in all its a good laugh if your not bothered about personal saftey too much! Dispite the lack of saftey there are a few gems about once in a while! Last time I spoke to them they were crushing everything that went in there.
Rating: No thought of personal Saftey, then use this place, if there isnt something you want then there are alternitives. I say :nod:

Location: Allington Lane, West end section SO50 Postcode Look for white escort van thats been painted as a ad board! Google "Hogwood lane" and its near there!

Discription: this place is small, however usually a few Vauxhalls about. They deal with banger racers so they usually strip the small hatches for personal use. Have tried to rip me off over alloys so dont ask. The parts are cheap and dispite the fact they are parked on top of one another its done safley by forklift rather then crane! They can also be very cheap, was offered set of chrome angel eyes for £40!! however can be quite amiturish so be warey! Wide range of tools availible for use.
Rating: Reasonable price and safeish environment top marks! Avoid alloys! :cool:

Discription: Not the brightest of people who run it, once went in asking for Nova parts got told there wasnt any, dispite could see one from the front door, they were cheap, however they have stopped doing Pick a part, apparently but im not sure if it is or not. Wheel bay were VERY arrogent and well overpriced, were very unwilling to negotiate.
Rating: I would avoid, now they have stopped Pick a part they have a good excuse to put prices up, and im sure they will have taken it!! saftey not a factor as they dont let you in there any more. People that run it dont really care so not very helpful. :laugh: Not the lowest rating but I advise to avoid!
