electronicstu, guessing by your name you know about electronics. I've just joined this forum having bought an Astra which is cutting out periodically. Sometimes it just wont fire up even though it turns over very well. From reading through the various threads about this sort of problem it seems it's most likely an electronic fault. The model is a '98' X14NZ/OHC 1400 I hav'nt had a warning light come on. The EMS light only comes on when I turn the ignition on and goes straight out when the car starts. Nothing flashes up on the dash when it's running.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
