It's such a dark spot with engine builds lol everyone says different. I did 1000 miles of driving like miss daisy and slowly upping rpm with an oil change at 500 and 1000. Always a painful process though knowing you can't go balls out lol

That's what people say mate but mine has leaked from every orifice since the day I put it in. That was built with 95% genuine parts. Plus you need to get round keeping the thing cool, I've not managed it and it's been a massive contribution to the idea of scrapping the entire thing.

I was gonna suggest why not just find a decent engine and bang that in. This along with your oil problems as well would make me want to change the engine

Got some 40mm and some 50mm springs here mate. 50mm ones are still on the car though and may be a while before I get to take them off
