    Alloy wheel guide

Above were 35 offset, fit the 3 doors without mods.... rear arches had to be chopped a little on the 5 door to fit.

I forget, they're some german make.... 16" x 35offset. And 35s are pushing it lol- Had to remove mudflaps on rear- It's VERY close to the arch lip (inner), may need to mod it but will test drive it first- Fronts are close too! - Massive dish to them :D

    Leon's Phase 2

Oh, I will forever be fettling lol..... Wish I could justify the cost of an LSD, maybe one day but thinking big brakes next on the list and also adjustable rear dampers (not happy with the rear end when cornering in quick concession).

    Leon's Phase 2

Oh yes.... I didnt realise how bad it would be without and a little bit of power, was well needed. Most new cars have them as standard even when running relatively low power.

    The r word

Inside panel has gone too looking at it, make sure you seal the inside as if you do any repairs to the outside (be that even welding new metal in) it will rot by getting water between the panels in no time. All common places to go on the mk3

Cheers, I'll be honest though and say now that although I love a nice shinny red GSI the white ones are my fav..... I do get more satisfaction polishing a red car though.

    Leon's Phase 2

Must say, well impressed with the equal length shaft! Used to be pretty un-drivable- in 1st and 2nd gears you could not keep pulling and had to lift off, 3rd gear was a handful and scary.... now 1st and 2nd have just a little (still skids but doesn't rip your arm off) and very little torque...

And that's where I've left her for today.... On a separate note, my sun visor went all floppy  so got a new one..... dont ask me why it looks tiny in the pic. It's the same size and not floppy! honest :) - And one shaft is back in I'll be ready for stronger wastegate spring and...

    Leon's Phase 2

small update- So got my equal length shaft inspected, the boots seem to be in surprisingly good nick! I was expecting to have replace most bits on them but turns out just a quick refurb / clean up needed so well happy :) Below shows what I got (so even the other side)- Decided to change a...

    New Owner 1.8GSi 1993

As with any vehicle, service it... Not just talking about oils, also look at petrol filter as they always get forgotten about. Spark plugs and leads, brake fluid etc. Make sure timing side is not questionable too meaning not only the cambelt but waterpump, rollers and tensioner have been...

    Leon's Phase 2

100% agreed, the GT28 spools up early and makes it very "interesting" to drive..... the chinky GT30 wasnt as bad (only spooled up in the higher rpm range) but since changing tyres for them semi-slicks and the suspension/geometry of the front end it's all wanting to stick to the road more but...
