So I have a C14NZ and I want more power and something interesting. Had a few ideas but I’ve not really settled on much and then I saw this. Which appears to be c14ne bottom end with a c16se head (multi point) but with a single point inlet and a little turbo bolted on. I think I can achieve this pretty cheaply for something fun to do but I’d like some of the more technical people to explain what on earth has gone on here to make this work ie the compression of the block n head combo and how they put the spi inlet on the mpi head etc. I’m also aware is probably not worth it etc etc.

The 1.6 head on the 1.4 block will lower compression, so ideal for adding a turbo. The single point inlet, not so sure why that would be the better choice to be honest.

The smallblock 8v engines have been turbo'd by many in the past, often with decompression plates.

I’m not sure why they used this spi at first aswell but I assume probably for the same reason I would…. That’s what I have currently to hand lol.

I definitely want to get the 1.6se head with mpi eventually if I do this but to do that I would need loom, ecu, head, inlet and all the sensors to run it and annoyingly I haven’t yet found someone with it all for sale for a decent price.
