Hi
And thanks for letting me join.
Are 5 door Sports worth anything?
I’d assume 3 doors are the preferable choice?

It's always worth something to someone. I guess your "not looking to sell" just want an idea on cost?

Realistically we need more information.

Mot?
Mileage?
Reg?
Issues?
Engine Size?

We sadly don't have crystal balls.

I'd be completely honest - I've always fancied another but that's another story.

Hi,thanks for getting back to me

I am guessing here -

MOT no last was 31/10/22
1.6 16v
over 100k on the clock
Last MOT in 2022 was lots of rust / welding soon.

If its sat in a field or outside your probably going to find its going to need a fair bit of work without showing us especially in the weak spots. Then cambelt / water pump and full service - your not going to get much at all for it.

I'd say one of if not the best engine IMO fantastic little cars but your only going to get as much as someone is willing to pay IF your looking to sell as its a tad strange you asking on value if you don't want to sell.

IF your not then its up to you if you want to spend money on it. I'd need to see the damage but a wing is simple to do a few bolts and paint. Arch isnt a massive job as you can get replacements but its how far do you want to go with it.

It is nice to see one about, I actually bought some sports wheels the other week just in case as I love them.

Correct, that’s when the mot expired and it’s been in a garage since, can’t believe it’s been that long?!!
No structural rust, just surface so I was informed.
I do have another wing but was considering repairing the original because it is that, the original. Sorry for the confusion, regarding value.
I think I confused myself too?! I guess I’m trying to evaluate if it’s worth spending money on.
I want to save it as it’s far too good to break/scrap and I’d consider selling as long as it wasn’t scrapped or raced,it deserves better than that.id love to put it on the road again but the £300 a year road tax is a killer!

Only you can say if its worth spending money on it to get it back on the road. At the moment its not worth a massive amount as it is but someone like me would buy it to cherish (not saying I would as i'd need to see it).

Its hard to answer as its all dependant on you and your circumstances / requirements.

Put it back on the road and enjoy it classic car insurance cheap running costs, tax slight high i just do 6 months and use it in the better weather it will draw lots of intrest as mine does all the time when its out, will defo say keep it original as there isnt many left and again people love seeing a genuine original astra sport!

Thanks for your reply, your comments are making me think now, would be good to use in the summer months.

You don't need to tax it for the year - just put it on monthly and sorn when not in use. It's what I do with my track car

That’s a good point, I think in the next few weeks I’ll get some fresh fuel and a good battery and drive it outside and see what I need, then I can make a decision on keeping it or selling it.
Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated.
