i have a 94 mk3 astra i cannot get a switching power feed would any one point in in the right direction cant get at ignition switch just need a switching supply from some where to feed a nokia car kit earth is no probs but cant find a switching positive

As per many crappy vaux designs they don't have a live output in position 1(accessory), but many from position 2(run).
It is possible to get a position 1 live by using a changeover relay, but trouble is it is taking power all the time it is switch off to switch the relay contacts.

head unit wires not switchable for when i put my jvc in i could not find a switchable power source so i connected the red & yellew of the jvc to the red of the car

position 1 of ingnition switch had no wire going to it so i feed a wire to it just to find that when you turn the car completely of there is power and when you switch to position 1 there is no power kind of a bad design for vauxhall you might say

Bloody piece of **** design by vaux, same as the stat position on the 8V engines!!
The live output when switched off, is actually a carry over from other countries, and is for the indicators!!
It keeps just these live with key out so that putting stalk to right or left keeps that sides sidelights on and not both sides, is law in some countries.
