abs pump

right is there anyway of testing my abs pump as i dont think its working when you press the pedal its rock hard but when i crack the pies off the top that goes from the master cylinder to the pump unit the pedal will go to the floor but put them back on it gose rock hard so i was wondering if there is a way of testing it thanks 4 any help o and i forgot its a 2.2dti vectra 2003 plate that i picked up 4 300 squid

It will go hard if the engine isn't running.. and simple.. slam on the brakes (in a safe place).. if wheels lock up, it aint working.. if you feel the pedal judder then it is.

even with the engine goin you cant push the pedal and i ve changed every thing eles so really its the only thing left its not safe to even try and drive to the local dealers

Sounds more like a servo problem then, the ABS pump only operates when the ABS is activated, not under normal braking. Check your vacuum hose to the brake servo.

all checked and a whole new servo put on it mate thats how come im stuck

Vac pump if its got one i know the older diesels did..

sorted now it was a combo of 2 things brake lines callapsed and the slave cylinder was ****ed so changed it all over and all is good now
