Right guys,.

ive stumbled across a problem. basiclly. i was fitting my TID? i think theyre called,. the date time and temp display thing,. well, my van has central locking, well, the battery was almost dead, it struggled to unlock the doors, well, the central locking threw a fit on me, and now theyre locked and wont unlock with the key, or by pulling the pin up...

its really frustrating as its off to the bodyshop this weekend to have the arch repaired!

any tips anyone? i was thinking of taking the central locking box out, but not sure yet...

Any help apprechiated.

thanks

so the dead lock is on, is battery still flat? charge it up and see if will unlock with key.

have you fiited TID thing (MFD) correctly? maybe fault their so draining battery, cant see it myself as there plug and play.

try charging battery then disconrcting and then connecting battery , listen for any clicks for a faulty selonoid.

nope cant unlock it with the key. battery is charged now. ive tried with the TID removed too,. and no clicks from any solenoid.

Tony - that really isnt helpful. i kind of know that now!

Sorry!!!!!!!!

oh well in that case remove drivers kick plate and have a look at central locking selonoid in the a piller, i had to replace mine coss it just stopped when i was working on electric windows.

just thought, you have checked the Fuse for the cental locking have'nt you?

edit. cant understand why they wont unlock with key, even if central locking hass packed up they should still unlock.

Yep checked the fuse,. my dad wreckons he'll have it done within an hour tomorrow, so we're see lol.

literalli its as if the lock is jammed... ive managed to get the door card off the passenger side to see if any rods etc are bent or anything but couldnt see any?

Now you've fcuked it lol :D

i was told the drivers side had to have a manual lock for mot so that it would oparate i may be very wrong but here i go could there be any chance youve got something in the lock barrel or it could be siezed up

both locks at the exact same time?

ive just been speaking to someone i know, and he said it will be the solenoid not allowing the lock to come back up, so basiclly its deadlocked, he said hunt down the central locking box... will be behind one of the kick panels, and disconnect it while the battery is connected... disconnect it for about 10 mins, then reconnect and it should return the solenoids to neutral, sooo we're see tomorrow.

nice one!

Right :D im back in... lol, i got pi$$ed off with it in the end so stuck the key in the lock and turned it really hard, then the central locking decided to make a little groan, then started working again :D result!.

check that its not a dodgy switch/selonoid in the door. also main central locking unit is behind the drivers kick panal, remove that and its behind loads of foam inside the A piller. if your car has factory alarm then the alarm control box is right in front of it.
