Astra GSi rear lens - degree of tintness ??

I just bought a rear lens for the astra only to discover it's much darker than my original WTF. :thumbdown
were there different tints on different years ?
also the original has a foam seal where as the new one has a rubber tube, both say 10-11-91 on them.

the phase ones were lighter than the phase twos, phase twos had some tint addedd to them. pretty sure the gsi ones are tinted also.

the phase 2 were darker in general and look like there split in half, with the lower half slightly darker than the top

phase 1 were quite light except for the gsi which were dark all over

nah reece thats wrong. there both phase 2's. must be. the phase 2 gsi has the same rear lights as my LS and they are visibly red, orange and white, with a smoke.

p.s they cant both be phase 2's as there different, and all phase 2's came with exactly the same rear lights be it a merit or a gsi

thats a bit strange. paul0's gsi is a phase one, but they're the same lights that are on your car.
