astra lying to one side!

Id just like to point out that the drivers side of the car is slightly heavier than the passengers side, on older & softer suspension it could look a bit lop sided.

YES the shock doesn't dictate ride hight but don't forget they do have something to do with it, it would sit lower if the shock was knackered or on its way out.

yea i herd the driver side is a bit hevier tho iv has 4 mk3s and this is the only one thats done it..its not much higher but wen u look at the driver side of the car and its nice and low then u look at pasanger side and its pants lookin

Get the tape measure out and measure the arches to see if it IS level.

Are you wearing both shoes??? sorry happy glimore moment springs to mind

you might need to change the shocks over.

A HPI is a good way to check this, however its not always clear, my old Nova had a bang yet the HPI was clean.

Take a good look over MOT history, its all computerized for the last few years, www.motinfo.gov.uk punch in your V5 reference number and reg number and it'll pop up

checked there and all clear?..very strange..was gna change the strut but wat good would that do..

:cool:I think this reply is correct - my '93 model leans quite noticeably to the drivers side, some people have commented on it. But at its recent MOT garage said the suspension was perfect and just to live with it.

Mine also pulls slightly to the left, but I've read on here that others have had the same issue and there doesnt seem to be a fix for that either.

very strange...my mates 91 gsi astra is pure rotten insdie out and it sits amazing..not fair

Mine also pulls slightly to the left, but I've read on here that others have had the same issue and there doesnt seem to be a fix for that either. Funny that cos mine has the pull to left to. I've had it tracked twice since nov and its only slightly better than wen i first got car. Maybe its jus 1 of them things you gotta live with lol

I noticed mine sits on the wonk the other day when fitting my splitter, not a massive amount but its still lower drivers side. Ive got new shocks, new springs, track rod ends, ball joints, wishbones, ect up front so i can safely say its not a busted or twisted part upfront.

Personally i wouldnt worry about it, its all part of the fun in owning a 90's vaux.

Volvo 7-series had a design flaw in the front suspension which meant that the n/s front tyre wore more rapidly and pulled to the left slightly. They did come up with a cure for it but it cost £££ so most owners (i.e me:cool:) just lived with it!

Having been assured that the suspension on my Astroid is fine I am happy to just accept it and live with it - you could spend a fortune chasing a minor niggle. On an older car its just character!

my estate sits on the p*ss it does me head in, like u say drivers side looks mint but passenger side is whack!!

does me head in but looks like everyone is having this problem...

Joker

This just come up as a dangerous on my MOT, not sure why though!!

But it was an advisory.

Ok I've just been out and measured mine, from the ground to the highest point of both front wheel arches.

Driver side: 606mm
Passenger side: 611mm

No not much in it really, and to look at it you can't tell, nor does it pull to the left.

My arctic just had it's MOT - Flew through. Still looks like it's sitting wonky, I was told about the car being up on one side, down on the other, not to worry. It's normal so I'm told.
