Astra VXR or Focus ST?

ive been eyeing both these cars up recently and wanting peoples opinions.

What i dont want is people saying the astra because its a vauxhall, thats no help to man nor beast.

I like the Astra VXR because of its style and decent tuning potential but i like the focus because of the option of having 5 doors and you get it in bright orange.

Out of the 2, honestly, which would you have?

In all honesty I would have the VXR, much better looking car imho and I've been out in an ST and it's not that nice a place to be

That's a tough one tbh.. they're very similar, to me it would only be down to me not liking fords! If it was a Focus RS though, now that's a different story.

VXR like all Vauxhalls will have proper scope for additions, like all Vauxhalls.

Ford seem a little more WYSIWYG... No changes without mega bucks.

The RS is a nice one though, the ST is a bit... Blergh...

i like the focus because it doesnt stand out as much as the vxr but i also like that in the vxr. One of the things that draw me towards the focus is the 2 extra doors and having 2 quite large dogs to get in.

I'm not a fan of the ST tbh, Fuzz have got loads of under cover ones near me, the vxr is definately the sportier one of the 2, I like the sound of the vxr but there quiet common round my ends. to many chavs got them

why spend the money on a new car to let the dogs terror it up?

I wouldn't have any personally but if I HAD to choose it would be the vxr but i'm a vauxhall man

DOGS!!! in a car like that noooooooooooooooooooo They are both nice cars and is a tough decision but with the tuning ability of the vxr without having to dig real deep in your pockets then defo the vxr but for something new and not bothered about tuning etc id go focus..............................

You know me Rick, Vauxhall to the core but over the 2 id have a Asbo. The only thing that would stop me getting a Asbo is possibly a Ring VXR

vxr for me too raced an st when i had my nova c20let and i left it raced a vxr and i was side by side. also you say you like the st because it doesnt stand out as much but you want a bright orange one? lol

buy a vxr and get a detachable towbar for a trailer for the pooches

no towbar for a vxr unless you want to burn your towing ball contantly!
Just no room behind there with the centre exit exhaust.

rick buy that astra estate we saw at billing that had a tuned vxr engine in it and all the vxr kit, room for the dogs and mental speed. If you buy the st you'll regret it everytime you see a vxr, whereas you wont notice st's if you have a vxr

Id go for the VXR, something about a vxr that i cant place my finger on. They are both lovely cars to look at. Not driven a ST but ive driven a vxr its a nice place to be, dash is a bit bland to begin with.

Another thing to bear in mind off the top of my head a vxr is 240 bhp and a st is 220 ( i think )

Take one of each out on a test drive and see what you prefer.

I like both of them but wouldnt have either purely for the fact every tom **** and harry has one round here.

Me personally Id go for the new RS, absolutely love it
