base tube help

hiya all I've came across a bit of gas pipe its 28cm wide 50cm long and a 1cm thick would this be ideal as a home made base tube.If so i think a 10" sub would fit if Ive calculated it right could some kind member please help me with a bit of advice and information. if i need it longer i can possibly get another piece thanks for viewing

a 10" sub generally requires 1.5 cubic ft for a sealed enclousure so it would need to be approximatly the 50cm legnth off the top of my head!!!

as for the far end blocking off, use 12mm mdf birch ply or mdf set inside the hole glued in with fibrglass resin then screwed on the outside all the way woruns, screws 3" apart!!then add another 12mm thick layer over the top of the blocker glued on with wood glue then scew through the end into plastic at 12, 3 , 6 and 9 o'clock positions!!

been there done that hehehe

bear in mind sub boxes are square for a reason,

leave that on there,,, will make an easy way of supporting it and rolling all over your boot

There's no need as im making brackets for it to be held on the back of the rear seats.
