right on my van i have some shockingly bad solid 236mm discs and i was wondering if i were to put on different discs namely 256mm vented would i need different calipers or would the standard ones suffice? as i'm not too keen on bleeding the system cos i have no idea how to do it and dont want to be without brakes

:hang:

you need the 256 calipers, carriers and pads as well im afraid

damn :/ ok so what do i need to do to bleed the brakes? ive had the calipers undone b4 on my hatch but never had them unplugged so to speak, do i just swap them over, undo the brake fluid resivoir cap and fill it up? how do i get the air out?

You have to use the bleed nipples on the calipers.

Least hassle with an Ezibleed kit really, you fit the kit to the resovior, attach a tyre to the kit and crack open the bleed nipple till no more air comes though.

Repeat for other other side.

Failing that you need a person to pump the pedal. You open the nipple, they push it down. You shut the nipple, they release.

Repeat till no more air comes out etc.
