hey guys my mate has just rebuilt his corsa GSi (c16xe) engine and he now has a problem.

he fitted then engine back in the car and wired everything up. he then connected the battery and a minute later fuel start pouring out of the air filter :(

so we disconnected the battery checked all the connections and tried again. we noticed the fuel pump is constanlty on but also the oil light, handbrake light and another light forgot what it was now, lol. these come on even though the key is not in or turned. we have tried connecting the earths to different points, this didnt work, so we tried directly connecting the earths to negative on battery, this didnt work. so now were out of options :(

i have been told by a mechanic that it may be a connection on the power loom, i.e the alternator and starter motor but all connection seam fine and correct.

so guys have you got any ideas? and if anyone has a picture of the power loom connected up i could check this against what my mate has on his to double check it is connected right.

any help appreciated please :)

i think theres a major ****up in the wiring somewhere. might be worth retracing all the wires particularly the loom that has been desturbed in removing the engine.

i gathered there was a major problem, lol. and traced all the wiring but cant see any problems. it is prob staring me straight in the face and im just not seeing it. as anyone got any idea?
