C18XE.Crankhaft position sensor.

1.8i dohc 16v c18xe.Still having low idle speed after cleaning idle control valve.Could it be a crankshaft position sensor problem.Where about's is it located,and how do i go about replacing it.Can anyboby give any advice on this.Many thanks.

My C18XEL (same management, Simtec 56.1) had a pretty low idle speed as well.

I doubt it's the crank sensor, when they fail, the engine stops working

But if you must **** about with it, it's on the front of the block (follow the wire over the cam cover) and held on by (if memory serves) a 10mm bolt.

AS said CPS either works or not, as you have sparks it is working.
