c20xe wiring problems

right guys i have fitted the xe now but i have a plug which seams to go no where and i have a few cable left near the ecu which dont match the colours on the car.

here is the plug which seams to go to nothing, its a 7 pin but only uses 5.

these are two of the wires on the engine loom

this is a wire on one of the clips by the ecu which is left

and another that doesnt seam to do nothing

now i have these two black cable in the engine bay which have frayed ends so dont know if they had a sensor on the end or if they are earth wires.

any help appreciated, these are the only things stopping me from running the engine. please help :)
 
the plug looks like its for the air flow meter, as for the wires the 2 black ones im sure look like earths on the fuel rail as for the others without checking im not 100% sure
 
That 7 pin plug looks to me like it goes to the ignition amplifier, is it a late XE ?

Wouldnt worry about the ones by the ecu not matching up, as long as you have matched all the ones that do then thats all you need.

Black wires near the fuel rail are usually earth wires.
 
black plug looks like coil ignition , is it down by the battery
 
thanks for the info guys, the big plug is not air flow meter i already have this one plugged in.

it is a late xe with coil pack, so what is an ignition amplifier, do i need one of these? as i dont think i have one cause the plug has no where to go.

wayne it is by the battery side of the engine.

i have been to look at an xe in a corsa today and the black cable look like earths.

fingers crossed they are :), spose it wont work if there not, lol.
 
that plug goes a little random thing, instead of havin a coil on the dizzy, it has some random plug thing instead, bolts in the same place, but is more like and octane plug looking thing, but is flat, black and bolt on a bracket which bolts where the coil would b on the dizzy version

i think the red wire may do tc, cause wen i did my xe, late to early change, i was left with that wire i think n my tc is not working

black are rail earths as said, or on my early engine, 1 of the earth goes on the alternator bracket, althought i don;t think it does on the late

makes sense to me mate, might be bein thick here though but what does tc stand for, lol.

i have ordered a ignition amplifier today, £28 brand new so thats the plug sorted.

just hope the spare wires which are left over dont cause me a problem
 
igntion amplfier, is that what it is instead of a coil?! does it look like what i said?!

tc is traction control
 
my car doesnt have traction control so should be alright woth that one left off :)

i think it looks like what you said, apparantly the late xe with a coil pack have an ignition module instead of a coil, as far as i can figure out anyways.

this is all new terratory for me, i usualy have eco wrecks and i know these engines quite well. im sure once this one is sorted i will know alot about it, lol
