C25XE intermittent problem

Been having a few problems with my C25XE. Sometimes its fine other times theres no power and the EML comes on, sometines theres no power and the EML doesnt come on.

Today I cleaned out the throttle body and AFM and took off the air filter, took it out for a run just now and it was going great, then when after it had warmed up i got to about 4500rpm in 2nd and the EML came on and it went into limp mode.

100 yards down the road and the EML went off and the car was fine, then about another 500 yards down the road it started stuttering but no EML this time then after a few seconds returned to normal.

havent checked them yet to see if anything comes up, will do it tomorrow if nobody has any ideas

Could be crank sensor if its going in limp home mode

I presume these engines have camshaft sensors? normally crank sensor problems cut the engine out (from my experience anyway)

Best bet is to flash the codes off but if it's going into limp mode then i would suspect either cam or crankshaft sensor, or possibly a knock sensor

i had this problem i trapped a wire coming from this sensor iv marked in the pic i trapped it under the rocker cover had the same problem you have now

cheers neal, that was a problem when the engine was 1st fitted but isnt the problem now

nope not on at the moment, ill take it out tonight and ill flash it as soon as it comes on

yeah thats the best bet.

typical, took the astra out tonight and it drove fine for about 10 miles away then back home and no EML coming on
