Well i'll lay down some facts, just for a laugh. . .

1.4 8v spi, 60bhp

male, 19 ZERO no claims bonus. :)

B98 postal code.

£1100 :) Not bad like.

So the renewal came through today, good old first central, gotta love em :D

1.4 8v spi, 60bhp - same car.

male, 20 - it happens, i do get older each year too. One years no claims discount

B98 Postal Code - same.

And the renewal price. . .

£3170.

Ohhh yes, so from me earning 1 years no claims discount, literally the only change to my policy apart from my age Lol i have managed to almost triple my previous price. Quality, really made me smile, especially when i imagined what the retard would look like that played around with the computer to get my renewal quote :)

I rang them up, just for laughs, as that's all insurance seems to be these days. The woman on the other end could not find the sole reason behind why MY policy had gone up so much, but through a couple of general ideas out there which might have made MY policy increase:

"Well they're could have been an increase in thefts and vehicle crime in your area, which could have caused your policy to go up"

Wtf, seriously, am i paying for all of these thefts and vehicle crimes?!

What a muppet, anyway she told me that was the best price they were able to do, she even wished me luck finding cheaper elsewhere :o

Anyway 2 minutes later, comparethemarket.com, £780, that's more like it, might be jumping back to admiral after all :hang:

Try SKY, they offer a good discount to the club and have some very helpful staff.

iv just gone with sky insurance on here just over £600 im 21 3 year ncb and 3 points on my ph1 gsi

male, 26, no no claims, careless driving conviction astra td cdx estate. 1250 quid.

This is one of the reasons im very seriously considering getting rid of the astra for something cheaper to insure :(

I've gotta wait for two weeks before mine is due before trying all the insurance companies that we have discount with as most ask that it's due within two weeks. So i'll try them all out then :) Renewing car insurance is always a weeks long job trawl for me, i try to get a price off everybody, then i'll see price for TPTF/Fully Comp, What named drivers reduce them by. Whether changing the mileage and value alter the cost, then i like to see how much £1000 voluntary excess reduces it by - just for a laugh :)

Not too sure you'ld get a cheaper car to insure, unless you want a 1.3 4 speed metro, or an 800cc matiz?

I found that i could get cheaper insurance on a 2ltr valver estate than a 1.8 valver hatch?!

my insurance didnt change with my 2nd years ncb, but i cant complain 19 2years ncb and clean licience £850 full comp with direct line and had that when i was 18 with 1ncb, though got a quote of £1250 on 2.5 v6 vecy though could afford to cough up to buy the car :(

I pay £1100 on my grandads policy, i'm on his insurance and his names on the logbook, on my own (19 yr old male, 2 yrs no claims. on a lit driveway 6000 mile limit) is £1978. But i had a 2.0l Sierra (estate - so i do think it makes a diffrence) at a couple hundred quid more on my own policy back when i had a job. I'm with Quinn now and when i asked why it was so much for a basic old astra she said it was classed as a "Sports Hatch". Nowt sporty bout a 1.4.

£4500 = not a joke either

Thanks for the recommendation. My company specialise in modified car insurance and our minimum criteria is to be aged 19 and over with a full 2 years driving experience

when i got my first insurance on the 1.4 spi that was £1150 and i tried literally everywhere and haggled the cheapest one so youre about right

now keep everything the same but change it to female and see what happens

My fist insurance was at 1200GBP on a 1.4 LS mk 3 with no NCB now its 390GBP with 5 years NCB (includes legal cover) so guess thats better than I thought... Phase 2 GSI X20XEV

Lol I've got plenty more shopping around to do yet, it's not due until the 1st of april. :) But i don't reckon i'll be getting much cheaper than 780, that's TPFT lol with worth mentioning mods decleared, i'ld be there all day if i listed everything.
