Changing door speakers

Its probably been covered loads and will raise another debate but.......

If i replace my front door speakers with a co-axal instead of a set of components do i disconnect the tweeter in the wing mirror area completely?

If i change for a set of components do you have to use the crossover or can you just replace the speakers for whats there?

Im so confused!!!!!!

Don't bother with co-ax speakers.. you have to use a crossover with components, they usually always come in the kit though.

As Andy says really. Co-axials will work but not sound as good due to a different sound stage.

If you do replace them remember you will need to use speaker rings and dont get speakers deeper than 56mm

best bet is to get components, crossovers nearly always come with kit and are easy to wire up. as said dont get a speaker deeper than 56mm as it will NOT fit very well or at all.

also the alpine sx150s or something like that for £30 odd from caraudiosecurity are a good bet for replacements on the cheap...
