hi there hope someone can help me. my astra has developed a clunk when i accelerate and brake. i have replaced the strut top mount and the bottom arm. i have just rebuilt the car and its quite annoying. thanks to anyone who can help.

Have you checked its not the engine mount broken, it could well easily be the engine rocking about

not a screwdriver in your glove box is it

lol .. you laugh, but i took my whole door apart because every time i drove round a corner i heard a clunk coming from the door area ... so, door card off, had a gander around and found nothing. Was something in my glove box !! Bah !!!

checked the glove box not that lol. will have a look at her tommorow. cheers for the help

I've mentioned this before in another thread. I had the same sort of issue on mine , eventually traced it to the door pins being worn and was clicking every time i braked and pulled off. Nearly took the whole car apart before i noticed it didnt do it when i pulled off with the door open slightly to try and hear better. :)

thanks for all the advice had all the front suspension off today and it turned out to be a bottom arm bolt was slightly loose. Cant beleive it was so simple being driving me insane for weeks lol
