Could be in wrong section but what is this

Took drivers side wing off car today and there is a big black cylinder thing with three hoses coming out of the top of it.

Its like the shape of a heinz bean tin but on steriods?

Any ideas as im stripping the car but i like to know what im taking off.

It's called the carbon canister it connected to the fuel tank vent valve
