Crazy fuel and temp dials

I noticed today that my fuel and temp dials do what they want. It started with my temp gauge that just decides, when it wants to rocket up to just under the 100 and the fuel gauge does the same!

Im really confused has anybody else had this problem and no a cure for it?

sounds like the voltage regulator on the back of the instrument panel might be faulty. the simplest fix is to remove the panel and on the back should be a small black electronic component with three legs replace it and that should solve the problem atleast it did for me. just make sure you fit the replacement in the right way round.
