Very common for the inside of petrol filler to rust away. I had to cut away part of my quarter panel to do it.You have come a long way to making the car solid again Dave, no point cutting corners now.
If I remember the inner wheel arch is in two pieces, the filler neck and the arch liner part. The Aftermarket inner arch repair panel only covers the inner lip and the complete one comes with the filler neck, which you will have to get from Germany. I used a genuine filler neck in mine which was separate from the arch liner but they don't sell them like that in aftermarket. If you get a full one you should be able to cut it in half and do the filler neck only as there's a factory seam there. That rusty filler will rust out the quarter in no time.S8000565.JPGS8000566.JPG
