Nearly all ph2's have DL-16 port on them
is there a usb connection for it with software
yeah there is, search ebay for OP-COM, I have it.. it's pretty good.. read codes, read live data, program different things

1996 onwards are 16 pin, before that are 10 pin.
my 95 CDX has 10 pin and I got a 16 to 10 pin adapter from ebay, but it doesn't work.
Tech2 works fine though.
Might wire up a 16 pin diag plug if I can be bothered.

Thats for the copies of op-com, the real deal is £80~ but they do the same job. Just ordered myself one today. My old 97 arctic has a 10 pin but my new 97 arctic has a 16. Needless to say, i've just ordered me some op-com goodness.
A genuine OP COM is £500.
They don't sell them on ebay, all of them are knock offs from China.
My dad bought one of those cheaper ones, not a problem on his old vec b, but i have a 94 and obviously a 10 pin tech 1 port. Was there any reason your adaptor didnt work Mark, id like to get one, but if the adaptors are as much use as a chocolate tea pot i wont bother.
Not spent much time on it, I'll have a better look some time.
