DVLA Engine change

Hello,

So I have never declared an engine change via DVLA only by the insurance but as I am going to keep my GSI I want to do things the right way.

I purchased the Saab 9-3 logbook in my name and scrapped it - I have the scrap slip to go with my gsi's log book change.
I have the engine number section and CC changed on my Astra's logbook ready to be sent off with the Scrap slip of the saab 9-3.

It was me who did the engine conversion and people are saying you need an engineers report sometimes and not others?

I presume this affects the tax band as well?

Who else has done it via the DVLA and what process did you take?

You will need a letter from a garage on headed paper to say that the engine change has been carried out to a safe standard, something to confirm the engine number and CC too would be helpful.

Wont make any difference to the tax band on a GSI.

Changed my cc on my V5 logbook on another vehicle last year and Yes I had to send a Engineers Report saying it had been correctly fitted & inspected. Make tbe change yourself on the log book to be sent away with new engine cc and engine number.
