anyone know what could be causing an eggy smell inside my wife's vectra, so far we've been told it could be the air con, or the cat. is there anything else that could be causing it?

its usally the cat mate i had it on mine when the cat was on its way out

anything i can do, that doesn't involve spending hundreds of pounds that i don't have on a new cat?

i cut mine out and put a piece of pipe there but you will have to get a new one before mot is due

she liked the sound of decatting it apart from putting it back on for the mot

A decat pipe is bout £60 quid on eBay i think. Second hand one from scrappy is about £30 if you want to go down that route.

look in scrappy for another cat ;)

Air con can make some nasty smells, it's due to the build up of bacteria.

You can get some cleaning aerosols for them, might be worth a try.

Really it is either one of 2 from that or the cat.

I'd start at the cheaper end and clean the aircon, then if the smell is still there take a trip down the scrappys for a replacement CAT.

she is constantly refilling the washer bottle, i've not long put a new coil pack on it, i think i'll try the aircon thing before i make a trip to the scrappie

check the battery isnt leaking, sulpher dioxide smells of rotten eggs and usually batteries have sulphuric acid in them

chek its not gone green on the insides of the washer bottle if it has drop a baby bottle washer tablet in it
