So, anyone fitted leccy windows to a Mk3 ?

I have a scrapper who is going to give me the window mechs from a crashed one. I need to change mine anyway as the drivers one is falling apart with wear.
Hey... may grab the electric mirrors while I'm at it....

Yes, I know I asked this on mig the other day, but I always like to get people's gen on it. :)
 
To same time as hassle id suggest getting full electric doors. May be hard to find clean, then get them painted up.
 
Well, the car the windows are coming from has electric mirrors too. Theyre a totally different colour and would need painted anyway :)

what spec level is it

anything above a merit should already have the loom in place just unused so i beileve, in the same way my sport has electric mirror loom but no leccy mirrors

Hmmmm

Someone on Mig did say this before, and I counted 9 wires going into my door.... which I didn't think was enough for both the C/locking and windows... I could be wrong though..
 
chances are there wont be enough wires in the door part of the loom, but check inside the rubber flexi join coming out of the 'A' post. also check if there are wires in the fuse box for them.
 
Yeah I realise the door loom itself will have to be replaced... however I have 9 wires at the flexi join in the A post before it enters the door...
 
il check mine tomorrow and tell you what colours to be looking for. 9 sounds a little low tho - i think the windows alone use about 5, then 2 for the speakers, 4 (?) for the mirrors and about 4 for the CL.
 
Theres 6 connections to the C/L as far as I remember....

m7 97 1.6 LS has front electric windows, no electric mirrors tho, but I checked the passenger door for mirror wiring and there was none. :(

do you guys reckon simply swapping over my door loom with 1 out a GLS or CDX would solve that problem?
