eml light glowing

Hi today when i was driving my astra mk3 1.6 16LZ2 the EML light started glowing and was not switching off. The speedometer was also not working but tachometer was working. The car is running fine. What could be th problem.

i maybe wrong but if you have electric clocks not receiving signal from speed sensor would be my first port of cal
