can any 1 PLZ PLZ help me every journy i make this light comes on, i have had it diagnosted by a vauxhall specialist and nothing came up. plz help me as it is drivin me up the wall

when you say "Vauxhall Specialist" what exactly do you mean? By a dealer?

if you're talking about an Independant garage, and they plugged it in to a computer, then I'm 99% certain the computer wasn't a tech1/tech2 computer and thus not compatible 100% with teh VX protocols. hence the lack of any result.

you have four options as far as I can see it...

1) take it to Vauxhall - a proper diagnostic test will cost you £40-£60 usually, but they will tell you waht fault code is being thrown up.

2) search "paperclip test" on here and see what comes up - you can DIY a diagnostic test easily on most mk3s.

3) find someone local/on the forum who has a genuine tech2 setup and see if they will help you at for less cost than VX would want...

4) give us more info on the cars symptoms besides the actual light being lit, and we may be able to help :)

it was an independant garage,(FOUR CROSSES) and the symptoms arnt normally noticed but some times just b4 it comes on it feels like the engine is trying to seize.
last year the engine would cut out now and then when i pressed the clutch thats wen i took it to the garage and they did a breather mod , which is a nasty lookin black box on the oil breather pipe, they said that was a common fault, fair play it hasn't cut out since but i still have the light prob

right, I would take it to Vauxhall for a proper tech2 test, or if you want to try to save a few pennies yourself then try the paperclip test...

Do a paperclip test first mate...
Then take note of the Flash Sequence...
and
Translate what it means, using the relevant chart.
If you are unsure, or want a 2nd opinion, then post the results of your Flash Sequence on here, and one of us will help you figure it out.
For Nothing!
Then hopefuilly you can get your car sorted.

If the paperclip test doesnt work etc, then go to a Vauxhall Dealer for the Tech Test.
and Be Prepared For You Wallet To Get Raped.

I wouldent take it to vauxhall, bunch of idiots.Ok if there replacing a worn tyre or changing sparkplugs but half of em dont know what icv is.
Do the papaerclip test or take it to an idependant vaux specialist. My local one charges £25 and is great, vaux will rip you off.

It pays to have a stroll round the back of your Vauxhall Dealer, and speak to one of the Technicians in the workshop....
Thats what I do, and usually costs me a tenner for the Tech test

At the end of the day, its an hours pay, for 5 minutes work!
Try it, you might get lucky!

the paper clip test is wer you get a (paper clip) and plug it to the connection point by the fuse box. not sure which holes you want but sum 1 will tell ya soon.

i have just done the paper clip thing and havent got a clue wot its ona bout
i think its commin up as either
3,3,3,9,2,9,2,9,2,3,3,3
or
3,3,3,11,11,11,3,3,3
any guesses welcome plz

mate it.s well confusing ... mine all ways come on. it a pain . get a bit of black tape and cover the light so you can.t see it .. lol

i think ive got it
it might be the camshaft sensor giving a incorrect signal according to topbuzz.co.uk

Your car is a 1.8 Sport yeh?

What is your Engine Code???

C18XE/L (Siemens Simtec 56.0/56.1)

X18XE (Siemens 56.5)

or

C18NZ (GM Multec CFi)

Just need to double check you are referring to the correct System, when interpretting your Flash Codes!

(i.e 56.0/56.1, 56.5 or GM Multec CFi).

Jim...

do you redline it as soon as you start the car in the morning? - if so stop it
