hi all

have blown up my second van within one week from buying it, i cant afford to scrap this one, so im after an engine to drop into it.

my first choice is an izuzu with gearbox. but what other options do i have ?

i dont want to go down the petrol line as i need something cheap to run.

and the gms are rubbish ( 1st one lasted me 4 weeks, current engine lasted me 5 day)

Isuzu engine is the best. Although they are big block and the GM ones are small block IIRC, so you'd need to change the front legs too. They are good engines and tunable though.

I'm pretty sure the DTi's suffer from fuel pump problems. They're less powerful and much more complicated. No idea if it will fit, the mounts could be different. Completely different management system and all sorts.

izuzu is the way to go now then, seem like hens teeth round here tho

thanks for the replies

the ecotechs are good engines but thy need to be looked after if there neglected thy do start to play up but ive not had many problems with my ecowreck

no im reffering to my deisel vectra mate altho its a newer plate and its fly by wire

thanks for the quick replies guys,

i cant find an izuzu car that i could strip, i cant go for a engine only as i dont have a way to transport it.

the ecotec is from a diesel vectra t reg. with loom, pump starter etc

im on about kmal, thought he may be on about a 2.0 16v petrol.

your best off goin with the izuzu engine imo pal.

newer engines are fly by wiring and a pain to get running right unless you use the correct parts
