Got myself an exhaust the other day, went to get it fitted and now been told that the bore off of the new back box is MILES too big, got it on a ramp and had a look myself, it is in requirement of a reducer, however I have no idea how to weld so id quite like to clamp one on, my idea is to slip a reducer into the backbox and clamp it down, then clamp it down over the origianl exhaust, meaning that I would need one with a 55ml external diameter at the big end and 46mm internal diameter on the other end.

been to local exhaust supplier and he come out with 3 reducers and said that id need to weld all 3 together to get what im after, NOT something I want to do as it was about 6 inches long!!

Anyone know where I can get one of these made up cheaply or another way to do this?

Going to go back to the yard where I got the backbox from to see the rest of the system and see if i can get it to go on, however it was from a 2.0 sport so im not holding much hope.

Looks like your lucks in nath!

Ill give them a buzz and see what they want for one.

I've got one here mate, just measured it and it's the same measurements as above and 5 inches long. Can have it for a fiver posted if you want? I can get a photo if you want.

5inches long!? Bloody hell dont really want one that long because its just going to join at the first bend in the pipe. it'll cause me a world of pain!!

 Think about it :sorry:

Hahaha but it's a 3 stage reducer, the 1st bit will go over your exhaust and the 3rd bit will go in your backbox so it will only make it an inch and a half longer if you see what i mean!

just chop a bit of the end of the center section if its too long.. simples

Its all good mate and imo sounds like a pretty easy fix? Thank yourself lucky you aint gotta do wot i gotta have done to my exhaust to make it all fit on

 ok ok seeing your points
It's a fiver posted. Do it or i'll batter you and leave you for the wierdos on the estate:lol:

Hell i might even buy it myself to spite you for your stupidity:laugh:

If you don't buy it Tintin, I will......Then charge Nath a tenner for it...........lol

Already PM'd him and also planning to look at the rest of the pipework @ the yard today, if its 2" at the backbox who cares if it dont fit at the cat, ill just get that bit cut n shut and sod the reducer

my peco dont fit nath i think i might have to get it pro fitted cos i dont have a welder and give me a pm about when your alloys will be ready lol

i did cut it and stuff but it just wont sit proper and go onto mine as its the same size pipe lol
