Hi all! I own a 98 Astra F hatchback with the 1.4 16v ecotec engine. I use the car only during vacation times, once or maybe twice in a year. There was an occassional check engine light and I tried to figure out faulty codes using the paper clip method. It turned back 4 codes: 1530, 0230, 0340 and 0130. By searching on the net, found out that 1530 is for an air-flow relay which I'm not sure whether this is for the ac or the engine, 0230 related to the fuel supply, 0340 related to the camshaft sensor and the 0130 for one of the λ sensors, not able to tell which one for. Anyways. Engine seems to work properly, however I noticed a dramatic increase to fuel consumption from 6 to 15lt/100km. AC seems to work fine after refilling it with gas. Question is, what do you thing needs replacement? Is it just the λ sensor that messes the system and gives the other codes? Does anyone had a similar experience?
Thank you in advance.
