After 26 years of ownership my wife has decided to sell her much beloved 1997 Astra mk3 Arctic. She is the second lady owner and was purchased by her in November 1999 from Smiths of Ilkeston Vauxhall and registered new May 1997 at Hartwell (now Pentagon) Vauxhall Mansfield. It ran an underwhelming 1.6L 8v X16SZP engine until 2007 when it came off the road and I embarked on a project to give it more power with a few extras. Between 2007 and 2015 (I had other on-going projects!) I set about transforming it into something a bit different and installed a 3.0L V6 X30XE coupled to an F28 with Quaife ATB diff. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the build and on-going work with the whole car having a complete overhaul front to back. It only gets used during Summer for shows and pleasure driving with a full build and ongoing diary detailed here, registered/logged in forum members will see larger pictures.

- 3.0L V6 X30XE fully stripped and rebuilt with ported heads, piper cams running a proven 230bhp/200lbft.
- Vectra B plenum and engine ancillaries.
- F28 fully stripped/checked/rebuilt with Quaife ATB diff & C20LET billet 4.5kg flywheel/LUK clutch.
- Custom stainless exhaust with tubular manifolds, 200 cell sports cat, 2.5 inch system, ceramic coated tailpipes.
- Koni top adjustable shocks, Eibach springs, front springs are Cavalier v6.
- Poly bushed throughout.
- Mim Raffino 17x7.0 rims, Goodyear F1 205/40R17.
- Vectra B 308mm front brakes and Astra GSi rear disc beam, Astra GSi ARB, Astra GSi servo with Vectra 23.8mm master cylinder.
- Air conditioning retained as per original Arctic model spec with removable slam panel.
- Reiger/Irmscher bodykit.
- Vectra B Motronic 2.8.3 management, standard map so possible more power with a tweak.
- VX220 airbag steering wheel with correctly wired and working dash warning light.
- Astra CDX leather interior heated front seats with retrimmed headliner in OE spec fabric.
- GSi Trip computer.
- Vectra B ABS retro fitted with fully functional Traction Control.
- Vectra B Cruise Control.
- Custom made hybrid Astra mk2/mk3 LCD dash retaining all mk3 lower warning lights.
- Correctly wired and working 16-pin diagnostic plug for all relevant systems.
- All original owner manuals and 2x keys/alarm fobs and all MOT certificates.
- Vehicle colour is Nautilus Blue (14L/283) with wheels/trim/plenum being Vauxhall Technical grey L177.
