im looking to repalce my front door speakers and the rears.

what size speakers will fit in the front and in the back?

also, how do component speakers work, with the box that some people put on the door card? is this where you wire the main feed to and then wire the speakers, tweaters into these?

thanks

matt

Front speakers are 16.5cm or 6.5", the rears are 13cm or 5.25" iirc

Components work by using the crossover (the box that some people put on the door card) to seperate the the different frequencies and send them to the correct speaker (highs to the tweeter the rest to the woofer).

You wire the main feed to the crossover then the woofer and tweeter also connect to the crossover

As aAlex said pretty much but make sure the fronts arnt deeper than 56mm or youve gotta start doing a bit of customising.

You'll need to make one, you can buy the rings for non standard but they dont bring it out much. I tried.

You can add a slight spacer to the rings which you need anyway when changing them but as every one else has said the room is rubbish bring it out too much it hits the grill, or hits the window runner. I believe pioneer do some shallow 6.5 speakers but the magnets are small and so the rating is not great (although better than standard). I had custom builds on my old one then had them re leathered (texture not smooth so look original), but cost 185 each!. it did look good I will dig out a picture, unfortunatly will be a picture of a picture sorry!

If not check out the speaker list, the speakers that i brought were great, they have a neodynimium magent so sound great even though they are small.
