Hey there Astra family,
I’m thinking about installing cameras on the front and rear windshields of my car, but I have some questions regarding the setup. The camera I have in mind is Xiaomi’s 70mai A800SE + RC22 combo, but I’m open to suggestions if you have other brands or models in mind.
Here’s what I’m planning: for the rear camera, I’m thinking of routing the cable through the headliner side trim to reach the front camera. Other than that, I don’t have any specific ideas, so I’d appreciate any advice you might have.
Also, the idea of powering the front camera from the cigarette lighter kind of bothers me ^^, so I’m planning to use the 70mai UP03 hardwire kit and connect it directly to the car’s IP fuse box (I’m not sure if I need this hardware kit to hardwire it and i’m not exactly sure how to do it yet
).
If there’s anything else I should be aware of regarding the cameras or installation, I’d love to hear it.
