Front Struts

Hi have a 1.6 Astra. ~At some point the engine was changed. I need to get some new front struts, but apparently there is two types, which would i be after? or are all 1.6 ones the same? Cheers

Two types are small block (1.4,1.6) and big block(1.8,2.0) to do with hub/shaft spline size, any small block will do you mate..

you dont need to change them, they was fine wen i had them off

Good, had me a bit worried there. Some dodgy things have gone on in this "Conversion", i'm sure it would have been easier and cheaper to put the same engine back in it. And yes i do the bearings and top bushes are knackered both sides. I've found a good set for £40 the pair anyway with recent bushes. Cheers mate!!

well its prob the fact they were cut so short thats worn the rubber out. you can come look if you want all the rubber at the top of the strut has pulled away. its easier this way anyway because the spring has to be changed, easier to whack whole new unit in it.
