Just wondering if anyone can give me a straight answer of why my new HEAP (astra estate 1.4 MPi) keeps blowing up the injection pumps?
I brought it off ebay and the bloke was selling it due to the same reason,
i fitted my 2.0 redtop pump and was going fine and hen that packed up,

i tried the old one an now it was working again, so i put that one back in, was working ok again, sudenly it stoped again, i thought t was the fuel pump relay or maybe a bad connection somewhere,
so i put a live wire straight to the pump as well as a good earth to elliminating the problem, yeeeaaahh,

:hang::Cry::Cry::Cry::Cry:it started working again, but then guess what, its dead again, any suggestions willbe great, many thanks before hand

i put the live straight from the ignition live straight to the pump itself, its had 3-4 new fuel pump relays already mate, something is telling me that there is excesspreasure in the fuel return and making the pump work to hard if that makes any sence

Either loads of crap in the tank is getting in, the mesh only stops thinks like sticks, logs etc not fine stuff, or as you say I would make sure the return was clear.
Just take return off where you can, disconnect from tank and use air line to check if clear, I would also do the same for the feed line after taking off from fpr and pump.
I would also make sure the earth is good by running a seperate wire into the existing one from a known good earth point, body etc.

so when you say the pump is blowing up do you thinking its burning out or otherwise?

also did you fuse the live you ran?
