Glove box busted handle!

One of the bl**dy kids has gone at the glove box like a bull in a china shop and now the handle is stuck 'up' and the lid is firmly stuck closed!

Short of taking a lump 'ammer to it, any idea how I can get it open (ideally so I can then repair it)?

I think you may have to prise it open, short of playing with the handle for hours on the off chance it might just open. Dont think they are hard or expensive to change though, £5 from a scrappy?

As above, you may have to prise it untill it breaks free. If you damage it, you can pick one up from the scrappies for about £5-£10. Good luck with it mate.

Consensus seems to be to prise it open!!

Where are the actual catches located? The closer I can get a pry bar to them the better chance I'll have of releasing it without causing any unnecessary damage.

The catches for the box lid are on both sides. Nearish the top if that makes sense. Id be tempted to lump the handle with something and see if you can free it off and open it normally. But it does sound like the handle has come away from the catch mech.

EDIT : Put some old cloths on the dash too to help stop damage.
