Had a little crash

Slipped on ice in a carpark last night and slammed the car into a bollard.

Wasn't going that fast at all, and before I hit it I thought "awww ****, I really don't want to scratch my car", then BANG!

Front right headlight, indicator and fog light has smashed. Bonnet has crumpled, grille has snapped and the slam panel has a massive bollard shaped dent in it.

Gonna need a whole new front end... I would consider scrapping it, but I've just had the head gasket done etc.

Where can I get a new front end from??

i'd say it will be cheaper to source a scrap/cheap astra of the same colour, swap the bits over that you need and weigh in the rest.

All in all I don't know what to do... whether to get a new car, and swap it over, or try and fix it or got my losses... I know a guy selling a civic, and he'd do me a very good deal.

Owhhhhh I don't know what to do!

Is the slam panel bolt on?! Or did you need welding done.

When i crashed my old 2.0 corsa i had to drill the spot welds out and tack and weld a new front panel on, Just the same.

Yep the slam panel needs to be spot welded on easy fix though.

spot welds are pretty each to drill out. unlucky about the crash though mate hope it all gets sorted for you

go to a scrappy mate and get what you need, aintgoing to cost the earth and pretty easy fix by the sounds of it, just need a welder or the slam panel.

gutter about the crash but sure its fixable

if you fancy a drive up to the East Midlands, I've got all the panels you need on the TD Estate I'm scrapping (bar the headlights, indicator and front grille).

All the wings, the bonnet and the slam panel are in good order, but will need respraying as they are currently Satin Red with a rather fetching "flat as a witches tit" finish

Give me a holler if you need owt - wont be expensive
