Head Skim?

Hi, can anyone recommend a good engineers to have a head skimmed? Pref in North Wales or North West area? I was told it was £95 to have done in a garage who would send it off, is this right?

Also roughly how long does it take for membership/stickers to come through? Only asking cos my back panel has a seriously deep scratch and looks ****, just want to get it covered up!

wouldnt know about the head but it took around 16days for my stickers to come

ok, just wondering lol. obvs people do have other things to do as well as run the club, and this is by far the best one i have been a memebr of lol. Sierra owners club wouldnt let me in cos i werent old enough, even though i had a full licence an a tidy car. Its nice to find a small community with a good interest who are willing to help with queries as well. arse kissing over, wheres my free merchandise?...lol

it cost me £17 to have my head skimmed, this was 5 years ago though, £95 seems a bit much

I was quoted £65 cash for a head skim, re-seat valves and a pressure test.

i payed 98 for head skim and revalve so 95 to just have it skimed seems abit much to me

i payed £35 for my headskimmed about 6month ago but i did take the head off myself and took it to the garage

PM Phillip2 on here or migweb, he is a sound lad and wont charge the earth for a skim and he lives in chester i had me valves refitted and new valve stem seals by him, he charged me £20 and done a spot on job.

its for me it is, my mk2 golf is bein rebuilt so changin every gasket to be on the safe side, im takin the head an that off myself, but i have to buy new head bolts dont i?

Blimey near 100quid for a skim, is 30quid everywhere down here.

Im sure when i had mine skimmed a few months ago it was 30 quid
