Hello all!
I found out the previous owner cut away the heater matrix to try and fix my overheating engine. Of course it did nothing but he must have done out of desperation as the full cooling system (rad, fan, tubes, pump, etc) are all brand new. Turns out he never tried a new thermostat and that fixed it (feels like the first thing to check but ok, pretty idiotic imo).
This leads me to believe the heater matrix is actually OK, and driving in the winter without it is a real pain.
This is the current situation, a garage that worked on it last winter told me the rest of the system is there but I didn't ask to have it fixed, as I tough it would be too expensive to remove the whole dash and everything.
Today I saw one chopped tube and the input/output of the matrix bellow the gear lever linkage, so it looks like an easy fix! Anyone know where the cut off tube should be connected and where is the other one? Or if the owner just bypassed on to the other? I really need to put this working and I just spent quite a lot on maintenance so would like to avoid the shop again.
Thanks!
Engine bay is of a C14SE (8v) engine with no A/C btw.
(What I think) are the matrix in/out tubes:

The tube that is cut off:

How it is cut off (looks like a T with one end plugged):

This plug that I think is only for the diesel engines but I am not sure:
