How does the ac condensor fan works

Hi how does the ac condensor fan in an astra mk3 1.6 works. Does it works even there is no gas in the ac compressor. Does it works with ac pressure switch?

It works in conjunction with the main rad fan, either in series for slow speed or parallel for fast speed.

The relays that operate the two speeds have input from the Coolant Temperature switches and the AC pressure switch.

Could you tell me where are these relays located in mk3 1.6 saloon and also where the ac thermostat switch is located

the AC pressure switch is the 4 pin switch at the bottom of the rad, next to the 2 pin acceleration pressure switch.

Relays are on the back of the dashboard fusebox IIRC.

The AC system doesn't have a thermostat. The rad fan is controlled by the pressure switch as Mark has already explained.
