Mk2 and Mk3 brake calipers

are the front brake calipers in the MK2 compatible with MK3 ? I got a siezed plunger on my left caliper on my MK2, which is turning my wheel red hot, and I have a spare MK3 caliper here ,, just wanted to know if it fits before taking it all apart only to find it wont fit.
