My GSI year from hell
ill try make it short some people may be interested ive had my spectral blue gsi 5 years its well moddified with 17" speedline mistrals big brakes konis etc etc a year ago engine failed for first time so decided take off road for winter rebuild engine:
jan - march 2005 full engine rebuild arps fitted big cams headwork everything new
march - may ran engine in car felt very fast and nice started getting money to buy throttle bodies
may - managed 1100 miles head gasket blew had been blowing water hoses from day one but kept fixing them car returns to engine builder
june - picked car up fixed drove off very loud rattle he came checked it said was just lifter been full off water will be ok sets off 3 miles bang on motorway conrod through block engine builder said original part not responsible
june - picked up mint c20xe with cossy head fitted that swapped daft cams over and all dispack stuff car runs but rough
august - it goes back next week to engine builder for timing doing as they are his spec cams
so in a year ive spent over £2000 and not drove anywhere gutted looked at taking action on engine builder but more hassle than its worth im praying next week my car will be back but its now out mot
i still love my car to bits and hope to get enthusiasm back but that is how it can go wrong big time
