well after the death of my last van a few weeks ago, i decided to look for another.

so i picked this up on ebay... its 97 n reg, done 190k, the GM engine.

the mods lowered 60mm, 17 inch alloys, subs in the rear, massive speakers on the back door, and half leather st 24v mondeo seats.

plans for her are to

lift her a bit to 40mm
tint rear window
sort out some seatbelts as the clips on it are for a ford belt
and get her taxed

yeah once i get her on the road i will, come a long maybe get some ideas off u guys,

thanks for the replies.

will get some better pics at the weekend.

the handling seems abit choppy on it at 70, i think its the drop on her. so am going to look into changing that to 40mm. how hard is it to do ?

Backs are easy just jack up & if springs are real low then they will just drop out if not undo shock, & as for fronts you need to take out shaft as leg is all in one, then use spring clamps etc ....

had a look this morning round the van

the probs i need to sort out are

cold starting it this morning it was abit rattley, so perhaps new plugs or battery.
Cam-belt change
Suspension highered again ( need to be able to get a load of stuff in the back, and the handling abit shoppy at 70)
Took the tinting strip of the front window this morning and found a crack
seat belts stalks need fitted

thanks mate, she does look well.

have recieved a set of ford seat belts today in the post, so set about taking the vaux ones out, and fitting the ford. but one bloody bolt is attached to the ford anchor, that the vaux bolt wont fit through. so have one half off using a hax-saw blade.

will finish this tomorrow, tax the van, pick up a cam-belt, drive down to oxford and sort the belt and suspension.

pics will be on tomorrow i bet

an update on the van...

taxed it this morning, picked up a cambelt, new number plates, and sorted the seatbelts out.

then set out to a mates in oxford ( my first time driving the van since i collected it last week) just as i came of the m40 the temp guage went up to 100, so i thought perhaps it was sitting in the traffic that caused it at the junction. carried on and the guage was rising and falling around the 100 mark, then all of a sudden it shot into the red and the van stalled, in the over taking lane of the by pass at oxford.

managed to coast on to the grass verge, where my mate came out in his transit and tow'd me back. to his where we had a look and it had slipped it belt, due to the water pump bursting and soaking the belt.

we couldnt get the wheels off, ( locking nut) to remove the bottom of the cam-belt casing, so i have left the van with him. i think my current plan is to look into getting an Izuzu engine and gear box to drop into the van, as i cant afford to sell another one as a non-runner.

am abit gutted to be honest, as i had planned to run the van with the gm engine untill the mot ran out in may. then put her off the road for a few months while i worked on the engine conversion etc. but now it seems i have to do this work sooner rather than later.

sorry didnt get any pics as was to ****ed off to get the camera out lol

Gutted, and you were about to do the belt as well!! Gives you the excuse to get all the work done now though, looks well tidy black, not seen one in black before.

van looks lovely! right sh1tter bout the engine though. nevermind, get the isuzu fitted and have some fun!

thanks for the replies

the van was originally white, the previous owner had her sprayed black.

i am now trawling ebay and the forums for a donar car, that i can take the engine, gearbox, engine mount, and window screen from to put on the van..

fingers crossed i can get something sorted out, as i have a few days of work next weekend and would be perfect time to get the van back on the road.

anyone know how to remove the rear shocks, as when i jacked mine up I couldn't find the top bolt anywhere in the car or under it?

But nice van mate is that matt black? still looks smart with that gsi bumper mmmmmm

it was i went to pick it up as soon as the guy was free, with the intention to drive it till the mot ran out then give it a new engine.

the problems ive had have pushed this phase forward. so i am now on the look out for an izuzu engine and gear box to drop in.

thanks for the replies
