Well hello there people im new here kind of a longtime reader and new poster.

Planning on turning my gsi into a track/drag car.And wondering as anybody else tuned the c20xe to similer ways that i want to do.

The plan is:
fast road cams
Bike tb's,with a remapped dastec unichip
sbd manilfold and full exhaust
Stripped with one bucket seat

Now first question is will the dastec work well with bike tb's and give good results.Im on a budget so thats why i cant buy a stanalone unless it was second hand or a whole tb kit.

Am i being to hope full with a hope of being in the 180ish bhp with those mods?

Any advice that anyone has for me would be nice as this is my first experience with the C20xe.Or has anyone else done track/drag days and what results?

Yeah more would nice trying to get the most out of what i got.

Anyone else know?/Ideas?

Tb,s and carbs arnt much diffrence tbh only mid range to peak power is where you will get a little bit, lightend flywheel and crank pulley
and if you really want get a RE bor to 2.1 and you chould hit 200 bhp

Welcome to the forum bud.
As for the c20xe there's loads of people on here more qualified to comment but as far as I know to get more decent power the throttle bodies and decent management is the way to go, think megasquirt seems to be the budget choice at the moment. The sbd manifold you mentioned and a decat seems a good choice aswell.
From what i've read cams aren't worth the money for the small power increase they give.
The trouble with the tb's and management is they are not cheap, think that's why a lot of people go the LET route for an instant 200bhp.

ive just done a resonable XE in a mates westfield:

steel rods, wossner pistons, 1.3mm cometic gasket, ported the head and fitted some newman 270 cams, with R1 carbs, megajolt and a tony law system/manifold made 190bhp@wheels which based on 18% losses is 225bhp at the flywheel, engine to build would cost maybe £3k with the parts, but 225bhp XE for that price is really good value. peaks power just over 6k and limiter set to 7k and the thing is silly quick. bike carbs are **** easy to setup and very cheap to buy to be fair and better midrange than what a weber carb is any day of the week and both give the same peak power so win win really. less parts to go wrong with the bike carbs too.

i built another XE which was balanced, arp rod bolts, superchip, powercap, decat and ported the head that made 180 and 184bhp on different rolling roads which we were well suprised at tbh but was very quick.

another motor i built with stock bottom end, ported head and twin 45s made 148bhp@wheels which works to 175bhp at fly. on a 0mile motor so after running in should see about 180-182bhp at flywheel or so.

whats your budget for the whole engine? pm if want. can spec something up for you. and make sure you spend money in the right places and not on parts you dont need. as for dastek you wont need the chip with carbs. either gop megajolt for the spark, H&H ignition solutions dizzy kit or use a 1.6 cav dizzy and coil.

Was looking at some 1/4 mile xe's and they are ****e it seems there lauching seems crap.If i done work on a xe and couldnt beat a vti i think i'd burn it out hahah!! lol

Anyway i dont wanna go let route just yet as i would expect more from a 2.0 turbo like 250/300bhp.As the class you would be are mostly in and around that figure if not more. With a let i shall be leaving heavy skylnes and bogging evos for dust hahah :tape:

Em i dont have a budget but i want to do it as easily as possible now i am under no illusion that power comes cheap with and exhaust and filter haha.Yeah i;ll give you a pm.

Oh and a nice video for ya all:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRUmhshvYno
