OE gas shocks and 40mm springs

Im needing some new front shocks, been offered a good deal on gas shocks (not shortened) and was wondering if theyll be ok with my 40mm springs

Should be ok with 40mm springs, although not ideal

whys that?

They'll be working at the bottom end of their operating range and will be resting more compressed then they would if they were working with standard sprins that they're designed for

but would it drive ok, not bouncy or that? Theyre only a temp solution

Yeah it would drive ok, will just reduce the life span of the shocks

As Alex says, they'll work ok but for a much shorter time.

ah thats fine, its a needs must situation and its only for the short term while i get some more money together.
