Can any one help me plz? For the first time ever I have got points on my licence. The question is when do I have 2 tell my insurance company and will it make a lot of differance to my insurance?
I was caught doing 35mph in 30 mph zone

Yer got to tell them or the policy is void i think. shouldnt effect the price that much lots an lots of people have 3 points or more now adays with all the cameras about, my mums even got 3 points and she aint no young girl racer lol..

Yes, you do need to declare the points.

It is hard to say if the points will increase you premium, they shouldn't make much difference if any at all, almost everyone has got points these days!

On a personal note, it is pretty harsh to get points for being 5mph over!

youre allowed 10% plus 2 so 35 is the max, plus, if they caught you with a speed gun, they have to produce a certificate stating that the speed gun was tested that morning before they took it out and used it - no test certificate they cant do you for it

you'll be fine, insurance companies love girls, and hate 26 year old males who have accidents and are told thier guilty when there is no proof, who drive a 14 year old diesel car that because it says turbo on the logbook they think they im gogin to be doing 200mph and will kill anyone who even looks at my car while im driving.

IMO insurance companies are a bunch of crooks(apart from ollie cause he's within earshot:lol:)

Thanks guys for all your help.Claire I was caught by a static cam.Tom I phoned my insurance company.I have 5 mths left to run on the policy and thier charging me £40 but only £14 for getting the points.The rest is admin, how hard can it be to alter the policy?
